Dining Tips

When dining out, begin by asking for a Gluten Free Menu (it never hurts to ask and you may be surprised).

Be sure that the wait staff fully understands the importance of your situation and writes it on your ticket. Often it is easier to say, "I'm allergic to wheat and flour"

Ask him or her to speak directly to the chef and to remind him to start with clean pans and not to use grease that has been previously used with floured items.

If you feel the least bit uncomfortable, ask for the manager. You may prefer to do this from the beginning.
